On June 3, 2010 the Marin County Fire Chief’s Association announced a new program to educate residents on the threats posed by wildfire and to provide a wildfire action plan that gives residents the tools to prepare themselves, their family and their homes from the devastating effects of a wildfire. Property owners: Defensible Space
is required by law (4290 and 4291 CA Public
Resources Code) for all property in State Responsibility
Areas (SRA). If you received a green, "Property Owner
Inspection Checklist" in the mail, your property is
located in an SRA Wildland / Urban Interface area and is
at risk of destruction by wildfire. All property owners
who received this notice must complete and return the
card by mail, or fill out this online form prior to
September 30, 2008. Failure to comply with Defensible
Space requirements may result in enforcement actions
and/or fines by the Marin County Fire Marshal.
 In order to fill out this form online, you will need
your property’s Assessors Parcel Number (APN) and the 4
digit PIN verification code from the address label on
the "green card" mailer. If you feel that the notice was
sent in error, or require further assistance, please
