| | On August 1, 2009 the Marin County Urban Search and Rescue team participated in a large Mobilization Exercise located at the San Rafael Rock Quarry. The exercise was designed to provide a technical challenge to the US&R Team while providing an opportunity for the team to work side by side with local, state and federal agencies. CA OES activated 8 water rescue teams for deployment to Louisiana on an EMAC (Emergency Management Assistance Compact) order. SF SAR Team 11 (Marin) was part of that deployment. They will be joined by teams from Sacramento City, Sacramento Metro, Stockton, Ventura, Long Beach, LA City and LA County. 12 personnel left Marin around 2230 August 31, and are expected to arrive in Louisiana sometime Tuesday afternoon.
